Vadodara, India – Tragedy struck a local family on Saturday as 70-year-old Lalji Pandey lost his life in a lift accident at a commercial complex on Aiwa Road.
According to reports, Pandey, along with three family members, was in the lift when it suddenly crashed from the third floor to the ground floor.
Fire brigade personnel were able to rescue the individuals from the wreckage, but Pandey suffered serious injuries to his legs and passed away while receiving treatment at a local hospital.
The incident has sparked an investigation into the cause of the lift malfunction and whether there was any negligence on the part of the complex management.
A complaint has been filed at Panigate police station and authorities are working to determine if the lift was in poor condition and inadequately maintained.
Regular fire audits are conducted to ensure the safety of all building occupants, and it is possible that the lift may have failed to meet necessary safety standards.
The tragic incident has left the community in mourning and raises questions about the importance of proper lift maintenance in commercial buildings.
Pandey’s son, who has an office in the complex, was reportedly visiting with his family, including his son and two grand-daughters, when the accident occurred.
